Where does my dog(s) sleep?

Accepted Answer

All dogs are assigned over sized kennels giving them plenty of room to make themselves comfortable.  Families with more than one dog; let us know if your dogs can eat/sleep together – if so, they will be given a big pen for their stay. If not, they will board in crates where they can still see each other to keep them comfortable.

What do I bring for a boarding stay?

For shorter stays we ask that your dog(s) food is portioned out in zip-lock bags – large breeds are exempt from this. (Great Danes, Mastiffs etc.) as well as dogs that are boarding for longer than week. A clearly labelled bag/container of food will be acceptable for anything longer.  We supply dishes and bedding – please keep your pups belongings at home so we do not misplace them!  We will take small blankets but no bedding please.

What if my dog(s) are not eating?

Ruff’s keeps a daily log for all dogs to monitor how much they are eating.  If you are worried your dog may not eat all their meals due to stress, please bring wet food to mix with the kibble to entice them to eat.  If its not needed, we will just return it to you.  We do have our own that we will use if needed and will charge you for how much we use if you don’t bring any.  Some clients feed leftovers to their dog while they themselves eat.  I highly recommend freezing some leftovers to send with your dog(s). The more we can do to help the dog(s) have the comforts of home the less stress your dog(s) will be under.  Ruff’s keeps a variety of wet food in case your dog(s) are not eating – we keep different proteins on hand as lots of dogs have allergies. If owners do not supply their own wet we will use ours and an additional $4.00 (5.5oz can) or $6.00 (15 oz can) will be added to the bill with the left over wet food sent home with you.

How are play groups organized?

Plays are organized based on play style and size. Soft players are paired with soft players, same goes with rough dogs.  The little dogs stay with littles but occasionally we get a smaller dog that is better suited for the bigger dogs and vice versa.  There is a lot of criteria that is put into place when selecting groups.

What if my dog(s) are not friendly?

Our no socials still get time to be out and about. They are given time to play with a staff member in the front area or outside weather permitting.

Question 6

Does Ruff’s charge if my dog(s) have medication?

Accepted Answer

We are happy to give your pets their medication free of charge – just please make sure medication instructions are clearly marked down, preferred in original packaging or bottles.

Question 7

My dog(s) eat raw, do I have to feed kibble to board them?

Accepted Answer

Ruff’s has freezers and a fridge to accommodate the dogs that eat raw with no additional charge.

Question 8

Does my dog(s) always have water?

Accepted Answer

Your pets have access to water 24/7.  There are  various buckets outside for them while out for plays and potty rotations. In their kennels the water dishes are always full of fresh water.  If you feel like your dog won’t like our well water, you’re more than welcome to bring botted water for them.

Question 9

My dog is not kenneled trained, can they still come?

Accepted Answer

For dogs that are not used to kennels they get priority for our pens to keep them more comfortable.  Also, daycare days we can use to help the dog becoming more comfortable with the crate by playing crate games.
